Dear NMQHA and NMQHYA readers,

Another month of our long break has gone which means the start of horse show season is another month closer.  Some people have already been showing but for those who haven’t, I hope you are having a lot of good luck when it comes to shedding, clipping and cleaning your shaggy beast in preparation for the start of the NMQHA season.  Remember, April is right around the corner with the EEC Circuit and the LOEC Circuit in June will tag along right behind it.  I can’t wait to see everyone and I hope you are having a great winter break.

New Mexico Youth Are “Top Notch” Competitors
The youth attending AQHYA World Show in Oklahoma City gave the World a “run for their money”.  The 9 member team was tough and went to ride with the best and represent New Mexico in their strongest classes.  Youth advisor, Tj Riddle, said “the kids showed with all their heart and between the heat and the humidity, they did a great job”.
The following team members represented New Mexico:
Hannah Blaeser            6th in Performance Halter Geldings (Look At This Asset)
Mykal Jensen               12th in 3 year old Mares (Piper Jaffray)
James Coleman            6th in Aged Mares  (Stars Design)

The youth are gearing up to sponsor the high point and reserve youth awards @ the Summer Enchantment Show to be held in July @ EXPO NM.  The youth invite you to vie for the nice prizes they will award.  Come to the show and compete for additional prizes.
