Dear Members,

The summer newsletter will be coming to you shortly. It will discuss our upcoming SEC show in July and how you can help us with this show. We need sponsorships to help defray the show expenses, items for the ever popular silent auction, areana crew (any able bodied person who would like to help with trail/pattern set up/tear down, warm ups, etc.), water, ice & hospitality table items. There will be a professional photographer at SECand a free horsemanship demonstration by Dee Brazeal on Saturday, July 19th around lunch time. A full slate of ALL BREED classes will be offered both days of the show with High Point and Reserve awareds in both age divisions of All Breed and each QH division.

The Amateur Officers and Board would also like to invite ALL Am. members to our next meeting on July 1st at 5:30pm. Location: 3841 Midway Pl. NE, Abq, NM 87109 (off Jefferson & I-25, just N. of the Century Rio Movie Theater). Pizza and refreshments to be provided. Agenda items will include: 2009 board members/officers, SEC and NMAQHA in general. Your concerns, opinions, ideas on NMAQHA are important and we would like to hear from you. If you are able to attend please call me @ (505) 280-6278 so we can make sure to have enough grub to go 'round.

NEW RULE 2008: NMAQHA hands out year end awards in addition to the NMQHA year end awards . Memberships in AQHA, NMQHA & NMAQHA must be paid before earned points will count. To be eligible for NMAQHA awards, a Nomination Fee of $30.00 must be paid by you or a sponsor. The Nomination Fee replaces the Summer Enchantment Circuit (SEC) sponsorship form previously required for year end awards give by the Amateurs.  The $30.00 fee is put into the NMAQHA account that pays to put on the SEC show and to purchase year end awards. All Amateur's are also still required to work/show at SEC to be eligible for the NMAQHA year end awards. The Nomination Fee Form can be downloaded below.

**Your points will not count towards NMAQHA year-end awards until you pay the Nomination Fee as well as you current memberships to AQHA, NMQHA & NMAQHA, so please return prior to the start of the show season to ensure that your points will be counted** If you have any questions concerning this change, please contact one of your NMAQHA Officers/Board Members.

Remember that a $100 hardship fee may be paid in lieu of the SEC work/show requirement to be eligible for NMAQHA year-end awards.
