2012 EXPO Rules as follows:
RULES: The shows will be governed by AQHA rules, only AQHA rules will prevail. EXCEPT FOR ALL BREED CLASSES- Every exhibitor, rider, and owner(s) must be members of AQHA. Every horse must be registered with AQHA and have current ownership designated on papers or have filed Lease agreements with AQHA. Novice riders (Youth and AM) can ride any horse owned by anyone- no lease agreements are necessary. Classes may be added at the shows- 2 classes before as per AQHA rules. Scratches will be charged if they are NOT processed through the office at least 2 classes before. Scratches can affect the application of the multi-class fee. Ben Carrillo is the Show Manager and Stall Manager for all shows contact him at 505-450-3203 for stall assignments. STALLS: Stalls are 10X10 metal or cinderblock. The metal stalls are fully enclosed with full bottom and grilled or solid top dutch doors. The cinderblock stalls have ½ wall fronts with only a bottom door (not suitable for stallions). All have portal covers- limited tack rooms available. Tack rooms should NOT be considered secured even when padlocks are applied. PARKING IS NOT allowed in front of stalls or around barns except while unloading. Trailers must be parked in the large lot just off San Pedro. Haul-ins must check with the Show Manager for permitted parking areas. RV parking is available on the grounds. Contact AKAL security 505-401-5095. SHAVINGS: Available from the on-site feed store, along with hay. Check NMQHA website for contact number. Payment must be made to the feed store DIRECTLY, shavings and feed WILL NOT BE applied to show bills. Contact Ben Carrillo (505-450-3203) for feed store contact numbers. NO DOGS ALLOWED INTO INDOOR HORSE ARENA, including bleachers or office areas. Dogs must be on a leash or under owners control at all times on the grounds. Owners are responsible for behavior of their dogs related to property or contact with people, horses or other dogs. SECURITY: NMQHA assumes no responsibility for losses, damages or thefts. Expo provides security to the grounds but do NOT assume vehicles, horses, personal belongings are safe. Secure all valuables and lock purses up OUT OF SIGHT. DRUG TESTING: All AQHA horses will be subject to drug testing according to AQHA program. A licensed, on-site veterinarian will provide required services. PROTEST: Any protest must be filed in writing accompanied by a $50 payment to the show manager within 24hrs of the questionable event or action. The payment will be forfeited to process the claim regardless of outcome. Show Manager will process protest for resolution in a timely manner.
